Before Guillermo Del Toro buddied up with Hideo Kojima in making the Metal Gear Amazon delivery service that would later be known as Death Stranding, he made a franchise surrounding giant robots beating the daylights out of Kaiju called Pacific Rim. After Del Toro departed from the beloved franchise, Steven S. DeKnight took up the mantle as writer and director for its sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising.  Read the full article here…

Hitman 2 is a 2018 sequel to the 2016 Hitman game and narratively plays out as a second season to the games’ episodic format. It was developed by IOI Interactive, who have been managing the franchise since its conception back on the Playstation 2 with Hitman: Agent 47.  Read the full article here…

After last year’s great Disney drought, the house of mouse decided to release several projects this year in theatres and on their new streaming service, Disney+. Outside the Wire is a 2021 science fiction movie directed by Mikael Håfström, a director and writer known for creating several films that received mixed receptions. Despite that, I enjoyed Outside the Wire and its premise, partly due to the energy delivered by its actors.  Read the full article here…

I’m going to be blunt with you. Despite it being a complete pacing disaster in regards to the movie’s overall narrative, 2020’s Monster Hunter was quite a fun flick to watch. That said, while I have played the games, I do not consider myself to be a Monster Hunter fan. I can sympathise with fans of the series who did not like the film after watching Paul W.S Anderson raped the Resident Evil Franchise violently in the bum for fourteen years right in front of me.  Read the full article here…

There is a level of respect one gets after watching someone’s work and knowing the amount of effort placed into it.  Read the full article here…

I was never quite one for the Hitman franchise. I always found agent 47’s character to be a bit bland and the gameplay to be lackluster. When Hitman 3 came out, I decided to try out the rest of the World of Assassination Trilogy before jumping onto the final game, starting with 2016’s Hitman, developed by IO Interactive.  Read the full article here…

While I respect 3D animation in video games, the inclusion in anime felt aesthetically wrong. Then came a show called Dorohedoro, the wacky anime adaptation of Q Hayashida’s work, where the dark whimsical setting fits the animation style like a glove. Due to the bad reputation that CGI anime has garnered, potential viewers could feel sceptical about this show.  Read the full article here…
